Aniimo Beginner Guide

Aniimo Beginner Guide: Explore

Explore walkthrough and in-game mechanics for Aniimo. 54 sections covered.

1Climb/Swim/Fly

Climbing, swimming, and flying are three common Pathfinding abilities. They can be used in the following ways: Pathfinders can swim while in a non-twined state. Some Aniimo can use climbing, swimming, or flying abilities while deployed and twined or when equipped for Pathfinding.

Aniimo Pathfinding abilities, namely climbing, swimming, and flying, come in three levels. The higher the level, the faster your Movement Speed when using them.

When climbing, swimming, or flying abilities are triggered automatically, the best character for the Pathfinding action will usually be chosen based on this priority: Currently Twined Aniimo > Aniimo Equipped for Pathfinding > Pathfinder.

When using an Aniimo equipped for Pathfinding to climb, swim, or fly, exiting the corresponding Pathfinding ability will not immediately end twining. During this short delayed exit window, you can press the button shown in the lower-right corner to exit early manually and return to regular character control.

2Climb

After obtaining Celestis, you gain enhanced climbing ability. Approach a wall, then press X to start climbing. Press X again to stop. Climbing costs Stamina.

3Swim

After obtaining Susuta or Skippy, you gain stronger swimming ability. You’ll start swimming automatically near deep water and stop automatically after leaving it. Press Shift to swim faster. This costs Stamina.

4Fly

After obtaining a Celestis, you gain Level 1 Flying Ability. Press Space while airborne to start flying. Press StopFly to stop flying. Press GlideRise to use "Rise," quickly rising upward at a high Stamina cost.

While twining with an Aniimo that has the level 2 or level 3 flying ability, you can fly freely in any direction. While flying, press Rise or Drop to move up or down. Aniimo with the level 3 flying ability can also use "Fast Flight." Press Shift to activate high-speed flight.

Aniimo with level 2 or level 3 flying ability can also take off directly from the ground. After takeoff, they will stay airborne at a certain height instead of dropping back down. Hold Space to take off.

5Elemancy

Aniimo have all kinds of elemental abilities. Emberpup can breathe fire, while Skippy can spray water and release chilling air.

Fire can ignite grass and wood, while water can put out flames... Use elemental reactions wisely as you explore the world!

6Mechanisms

Bouncy Pad: A plant that grows near water. When its leaves are affected by water skills or water in the environment, it will absorb water and grow. Once grown, the plant becomes springy and can bounce Pathfinders and Aniimo upward.

If it does not keep receiving water while grown, it will dry out after a while and return to its withered state.

Echonite: A special stone that grows on whale bones and serves as the puzzle target in whale bone gameplay. Pathfinders can strike it to reveal its true form, and each strike produces a unique sound.

7Collectibles

Chest: Chests can be found throughout the world. Open them to receive various rewards.

Aniipod: Aniipods are scattered throughout the world and provide supplies for Pathfinders.

8Sanctum

Sanctums were built by the Ancient Idyllians to repair the transmission of Vein energy. Scattered throughout Idyll’s Vein layers, these Ancient Idyll Civilization structures are powered by Mechina mechanisms.

Interact with a Sanctum entrance for the first time to activate it and unlock Teleport for that Sanctum on the map. Interact with the entrance again to enter the Sanctum.

Due to energy interference from the Vein layer where the Sanctum is located, you cannot deploy your own Aniimo inside the Sanctum. Instead, Aniimo statues within the Sanctum are sealed with unique Aniimo energy—by awakening them, you can link to their embedded Aniimo energy forms and explore the Sanctum.

Sanctum Terminus is a square-shaped core device linked to the fractured Vein energy—known as the Tesseract. Interacting with it allows you to restore the Veins.

Successfully repaired the Vein—claim the Lumin Amber within and clear this Sanctum.
